as a razor blade is so thin to be measured by any instrument in the laboratory, we apply the knowledge of mathematics to measure assuming that:
1. all razor blades available have the same thickness
2. when two razor blades are placed on each other, no space is left.
Requirements:
i. 10 equal razor blades
ii. a rule with measurements in millimetres
iii. a pen and a paper
Procedure:
1. take the ten razor blades
2. place each on top of the other to make a pile
3. take the rule and measure the height of the pile
4. write down the measurement
5. do the same about three times for accuracy and have the three results
6. find the mean of the three results
7. divide the mean by ten
The result is the width of a single razor blade.
