Describe on how to measure the volume of oil drop.

Assumptions made when measuring the volume of an oil drop are:
1)The oil drop is spherical in shape
2)The oil drop spreads until it is spherical in shape.
3)The oil patch is circular.
We shall take these assumptions into consideration when measuring the volume of the oil drop.
Since the oil patch is circular we assume to be having a radius r.The radius of the oil patch can be meausured using a ruler which is the straight line from the centre to the circumference of the patch. The volume of the original drop is given by 4/3pir^3 (the volume of a sphere) which is the same as the volume of the oil patch which is given as pir^2h (the volume of a circle) where h is the thickness of the oil patch and hence you can even go further and compute the thickness of the oil patch.
