Briefly describe the formation of rock pedestals

Answers

Faith
The feature is formed when a mass of rock with alternative layers of hard and soft rocks lies on the path of wind which contains loose and weathered materials such as grains of sand. The soft layers of rock are heavily eroded as the materials carried by wind scour against them. Sand abrasion is more effective at the base of the rock mass near the ground level. This results in a rock mass with irregular pillars of rock and a very narrow base referred to as a rock pedestal
