For general measures,the farmer should;
Practice zero grazing
Paddock the grazing field
Do rotational grazing
Clean the sleeping area of the livestock
Give clean water to the livestock
For nutritional measures the farmer should;
Keep healthy animals thus resistance to disease and maximum yield is attained since they will come on it at appropriate time hence reproduction.
Ticks and worms control-Practice zero grazing,paddocking and fencing the place.
Tick and protozoa control-accaricide application since most protozoan diseases are transmitted by ticks thus controlling ticks will prevent protozoan diseases.
Hygiene practice-milking must be done in a clean environment.Always move from clean to dirty.Proper disposal of dead animals should be done.
For animal management;
Consider animal carrying capacity
Separate sick from healthy animals-a sick bay should be there to ease treatment by veterinary and to avoid being injuries.
Separate the young from old animals
Drugs of prevention
Vaccinate the animals either through tactical or strategic treatment
Pasture management
Use conservative methods I.e rotational grazing
Use herbicide to spray the vegetation to kill parasites
Burn the grass to kill parasites
Plough the land to bury parasites
