Kames are mounds of deposits that are scattered over outwash plains. They are built up by streams emerging at high levels from temporary stagnant ice fronts. As the glacier front receded, the unsupported back of the deposits collapsed leaving such a steep faced mound.

Eskers are formed by long and persistently flowing streams. As the ice front receded, this stream continuously deposited materials towards the beach thus forming a long winding ridge known as an esker.
