(a) In game reserves where grazing of domestic animals is permitted, people have overgrazed and destroyed the natural habitat of wildlife.
(b) In lakes and oceans, Overfishing is threatening the survival of certain species of fish and other Marine life.
(c) Overuse of water, such as in irrigation, reduces the habitat for aquatic organisms.
(d) Barriers built across water bodies such as dams interfere with the free movement of aquatic organisms and animals.
(e) Tourist vehicles drive over the vegetation and destroy it thus reducing food amounts for browsing animals. The noise from the vehicles and the presence of people also disturbs the animals.
(f) Pollution of the environment is a threat to our wildlife. This occurs through sewage disposal from lodges and tented campus in the reserves into the rivers which pass through the parks. Pollution of lakes threatens the existence of birds and other aquatic animals. Careless disposal of litter in the parks and game reserves threatens the thousands of organisms that exist there. Pollution can force animals to migrate to other areas which are cleaner.
(g) The increasing human population puts pressure on land. This has resulted in people encroaching on land that was formerly reserved for wildlife. This has led to wildlife - human conflict and disruption of the ecosystem.
