In the town Galilee, Angel Gabriel was sent to a young virgin called Mary in the village called Nazareth. Mary was betrothed to Joseph who was a descendant of David.
The angel greeted her highly" Greetings, you who is highly favoured! The Lord is with you".Mary was highly troubled but the angel told her not to be afraid.
The Angel gave her the news that she will be the mother of the Messiah. His name would be Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David.
Mary asked how it could be since she was a virgin.
The Angel answered her"The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you.
The Angel told her even her relative Elizabeth was pregnant at her old age and she was barren and was in her sixth month.
Then Mary accepted and said to the Angel "May it be to me as you have said "
the Angel departed
