Functions of the majority leader in Kenyan Parliament.
The leader of majority party is basically the party strategist. His or her duties include the scheduling of legislation for consideration and planning of daily, weekly and annual legislative agendas. In addition, he or she is expected to consult with members to gauge the issues of the day, urge party colleagues to support or defeat a particular piece of legislation and communicate the party’s overarching policy messages to the media and public. He or she is also to monitor the opposition’s manoeuvres.
