introduction;
The amount of nutrients in manure from different animals can vary widely and are dependent on handling. Nitrogen is quickly lost as gas to the atmosphere and leached into ground water or dissolved in surface runoff. This can be reduced by covering manure and application in moist soils.

Materials used;
-200 litre drums
-Gunny bags
-Sisal twine
-Water
-Cattle, Goat or poultry manure
-A Knapsack sprayer
-A large stone.

Procedure
-Fill a 200 litre drum ¾ with water.
-Place 50Kg manure in a gunny bag, tie the bag and suspend it into the water.
-Cover to prevent N loss.
-Stir the mixture every 3-5 days.
-Apply to the crops after 2-3 weeks by diluting 1 part manure tea to 2 parts water.
-Leave one plot without applying the manure.
-Observe the plot weekly for the subsequent four weeks and record your observations in comparison of the two plots.
