(a) Kerning and tracking are two related and frequently confused typographical terms. Both refer to the adjustment of space between characters of type.

(b) Kerning: It refers to the process of adjusting the spacing between characters that is, the adjustment of space between a pair of characters in order to create a more visually appealing and readable text.

(c) Tracking refers to the process of overall Letter spacing of a word or block of text overall density and texture(that is, block of text can be very loose, loose, normal, tight or very tight).

(d) Tracking differs from kerning in that it is the adjustment of space for groups of letters and entire blocks of text. Use tracking to change the overall appearance and readability of the text, making it more open and airy or more dense.
