Introduction of money economy in Traditional African Society brought about break of family ties. This is because people migrated from rural to urban areas in search for jobs. Most people went to the cities to look for jobs.
In Tradition African society, crops were grown for food. However after the introduction of the money economy most crops were grown for cash.
Wage labour was introduced to Africans and people provided labour only when there was pay.
Since African needed money to pay taxes, they were forced to work under undesirable conditions. This made them lose their dignity.
There was creation of a gap between the rich and the poor. Those who got well paying jobs got rich and left the rest in poverty.
There was emergence of vices. Corruption, bribery, prostitution and robbery became the norm of the day due to money. People had to find other alternatives to fend for themselves and when they did not they engaged in social vices. This led to the deterioration of African culture, customs and values.
Since everything was acquired by money, the cost of living increased.
Rural areas were left with the less educated since most people went to urban areas. This increased rural urban migration.
There was destruction of the natural environment to create room for building projects, roads and urban centers. This led to calamities like flooding and drought.
