Adaptations of the Xerophyte to transpiration

These adaptations are to reduce water loss

They grow in dry conditions.

Root grow very deep to absorb water

They have succulent/?eshy leaves to store water

They have few stomata which are sunken

They have thickened waxy cuticle

Their leaves are hairy and often folding

Some leaves are needle-like/spines or scales
