(i) It is less democratic
This is because the rules are not always made by the representatives of the people they affect.

(ii) It is difficult to control
Neither parliament nor the law courts can effectively control delegated legislation.
This is due to its rapid growth which has made it difficult to watch over.

(iii) It is too detailed
This makes the rules inaccessible.

(iv) Inadequate publicity
Most rules remain unknown to the public because it rarely attracts media.
Compared to statutes, delegated legislation is not widely published.

(v)Sub-delegation and abuse of power
Delegates sub-delegate some law making powers to other persons
This leads to abuse of power and compounds the problem of control.
