(b) Multiprocessing: This involves the use of two or more processors to execute a single task or subprograms.

(c) Multiprogramming: Only one processor is used to process or execute several tasks or subprograms simultaneously.

(d) Batch processing mode(offline processing mode): In this method, transactions are accumulated over a given period time then processed at once to produce a batch of output. For example, monthly salary processing of payslips or pension processing.

(e) Time sharing processing mode: it is data processing mode where two or more tasks are processed simultaneously using equal CPU time slice in a round robin manner.

(f) Interactive processing mode: It is data processing mode where the user and computer system interact continuously such that as the computer executes the data entered, a message is displayed on the screen prompting the user to input data needed for the next processing activity.

(g) Real time processing mode: It is a data processing mode where data is processed immediately it is received so fast that the results are used as input to influence the next activity.

(h) Online processing mode: It is a data processing mode where data is processed immediately it is received by a computer linked directly to input devices through a communication link or a network. For example the electronic payments and internet banking.
