Put 10ml of the acid in a clean beaker and warm it.
Add the acid to solid potassium sulphate to form a solution of potassium nitrate and sulphuric acid.
Add lead(ii)carbonate to the solution above to form lead(ii)sulphate and potassium nitrate solution.
(Lead (ii)sulphate is insoluble in water while potassium nitrate is soluble .)
Add distilled water in which potassium nitrate will dissolve leaving a white precipitate of lead (ii)sulphate.
To abtain a dry sample filter and dry the residue.
The resultant compound is lead(ii)sulphate.
