1. Skin
The skin is made up of dermis and epidermis. Epidermis is made up of malpighian layer which gives colour to the skin and also protect against harmful ultraviolet rays from the sun. Cornified layer reduces loss of water by evaporation it is thickest in areas of high friction like palms of hand and soles of feet but thinnest on lips and eyeballs. Dermis contain blood vessels which help in temperature regulation. Nerve endings create an awareness within the body of changes in temperature, pressure and touch. Subcutaneous layer act as fat storage and therefore insulates body against heat loss. Sweat gland is important in that when body temperature increases, the sweat gland increase the rate of sweat production. Water in the sweat evaporates by absorbing heat from the body, resulting to cooling effect.

2. Liver
The liver carries out many metabolic reaction some being endothermic while others are exothermic. Detoxification is a helpful process done by the liver to eliminate such as toxic substances in harmless forms. The liver receives harmful substances by way of drugs, food or drink. Detoxification is done by oxidation, reduction, combination with other substances.

3. Hypothalamus
This is a region which is small and is between the cerebrum and cerebellum parts of the brain which acts as a thermo regulatory centre. External temperature affecting the body is detected by thermo receptors in the skin. Thermo receptors relay impulse to the hypothalamus through the sensory nerves. Once the temperature changes are detected by the hypothalamus the meditation takes place in the hypothalamus whenever temperature rises or lowers it sends the impulse to the hypothalamus.
