•Poor transport network.
During national examination, the bold experiences difficulty in supplying examination materials to various regions due to poor transport network.
•Insecurity.
KNEC is unable to administer KCPE examination effectively in areas that are prone area insecurity. For example North Eastern part of Kenya.
•Inadequate funds.
KNEC finds it difficult to administer KCPE examination due to financial shortage making it unnecessary to implement its programs.
•Corruption in administration process.
Some school managers may tend to bribe KNEC officials during submission of KCSE examination in order to access question papers or to cheat on the particular exams.
•Unfavourable climatic conditions.
KNEC faces difficulty in administration of KCPE examination resulting from unfavourable climatic conditions especially in Arid and Semi-arid regions of Kenya.
