Add ethanol to the flask containing the mixture of iron(III)chloride, zinc(II)oxide and potassium chloride.Iron(III)chloride being highy soluble in ethanol,it disolves leaving the insoluble Potasium chloride and zinc(II)oxide as solid.Filter the mixture to obtain iron(III)chloride as filtrate and a mixture of
Potasium chloride and zinc(II)oxide as residue.Warm the solution of iron(III)chloride to evaporate the ethanol that highly siblimes leaving iron (iii) chlodide as crystals.Transfer the residue in another flask and add water to it.Potassium chloride being highly soluble in water,it dissolves leaving the insoluble Zinc (ii) oxide as a solid.Filter the mixture to obtain Potassium chloride as a filtrate and Zinc ii Oxide as residue.Dry the residue between filter papers.Heat the filtrate to saturation level and allow it to cool to form crystals of potassium chloride.Dry the crystals between the filter papers.
