ii) Provides citizens with a chance to exercise their democratic right of electing leaders of their choice.

iii) Enables citizens to keep their leaders on their toes due to the fear of losing popularity and re-election. The leaders therefore responds to electorates' needs.

iv) Citizens are able to participate in governance through periodic elections.

v) Through different political parties' policies citizens are able to generate new and alternative ideas crucial for running the government.

vi) Citizens have a chance to replace leaders who do not satisfy them with those of their choice, in whom they have confidence, to run the government.
