(a) Kenya exports a lot of her manufactured products to other countries. This earns her a lot of money which can be used to develop other sectors of the economy such as education, health care and transport.
(b) The establishment of manufacturing industries creates job opportunities. Many people are employed in these industries and earn income. This enables them to buy essential goods, educate their children and afford a decent lifestyle.
(c) When an industry is established in an area, transport and communication networks are developed and power and water are supplied. Other social amenities such as schools, health centres, social halls and sports grounds are established.
(d) Many agriculture based industries in Kenya get their raw materials from farming activities. With the establishment of more industries, agricultural production will have to be boosted to meet the rising demand for raw materials.
(e) Improved balance of trade. A country that is industrialized is able to maintain a healthy balance of trade with its trading partners. This is because industrialization reduces over reliance on imported products.
