(a) Some manufacturing emit toxic gases such as sulphur dioxide and carbon monoxide into the atmosphere. Toxic emissions are harmful to the people living in the surrounding regions, the people on the industries and also to vegetation. Some of the emissions corrode buildings.
(b) Most manufacturing industries in the world are adopting new technological innovations to increase efficiency and reduce production costs. Increased allocation of new technological innovations leads to unemployment.
(c) Some countries which heavily rely on manufacturing industries or specific extractive industries such as mining tend to overlook agriculture.
(d) The establishment and development of industries in urban centres has contributed significantly to the problem of migration. People are able to move easily to urban centres to seek for employment in various industries.
