problems faced by African farmers during the colonial period include:
a)shortage of labour.
During this period, slavery was at the peak, therefore, the more able-bodied individuals were taken as slaves leaving being the young and the elderly who could only practice subsistence farming.
b)curfews
In some regions, due to the pre-independence wars, curfews were imposed making it impossible for locals to practice farming.
c)white settlers
During the colonial period, the white settlers took over the fertile land belonging to the African farmers in order to practice plantation farming therefore leaving the locals with the less productive land.
