- React nitric (V) acid with lead (II) carbonate to form lead II nitrate solution. Then react lead (II) nitrate solution with dilute sulphuric acid to form lead sulphate solid and a nitrate. Filter to separate lead sulphate as a residue and a soluble nitrate filtrate. Wash lead sulphate solid in distilled water and dry between filter papers.
