This is the equipment used for originating or terminating data such as computers ( client or server stations) or terminals (printers or any other node) acting as a sender or receiver of data signals.

(b) Data Circuit-Terminology Equipment (DCE).
This is the equipment used to interface DTE equipment with networks such as modems,routers, bridges or hubs switches.
