(a) Advantages of telecommuting.
(i) The teacher's working hours are flexible and not necessarily between 8 a.m to 5 p.m.

(ii) Saving for institutions in terms of renting expensive city centre offices and learning areas/ premises.

(iii) The teacher or student saves on travel costs.

(iv) The teacher can multitask by teaching many students in different geographical areas at ago.

(v) Less stress because travelling inconveniences such as traffic jams are reduced or eliminated.

(b) Disadvantages of telecommuting.
(i) So many homes are not supplied with stable electricity power making it impossible to use battery backups.

(ii) The difficulty of office accommodation is compounded when two or three members of a family all work at home.

(iii) Loss of social contact between the student and teacher.

(iv) Need for quiet and conducive learning room at home may pose a challenge. This can be difficult in a small flat or noisy estates.

(v) The cost of hardware, software and cabling is out of reach (expensive bandwidths) to so many people including the teachers.
