1. Destruction of aquatic life as a result of water pollution caused by application of high amounts of fertilizers to lawns, gardens and vegetable. This has led to increased death of aquatic animals and plants through excess nutrients inputs which reduce the amount of nitrogen and phosphorus nutrients(essential to the health and survival of aquatic animals and plants. Water pollution caused by agricultural activities has also led to increase in the number of people who cannot access clean water for drinking and bathing.

2. Deforestation

Clearing of forests during rainy seasons by people in order to secure enough land for cultivation of crops has led to loss of habitat by animals who initially lived in the forests.

3. Loss of land productivity

This is because of continuous farming even when the land has not recovered its fertility.

4. Agricultural activities such as overgrazing has led to decrease in vegetation cover hence leading to soil erosion.

5. Use of heavy equipments during harvesting has left the soil naked hence easily polluted by pollutants.

6. Poor farming practices have led to depletion of soil nutrients.
