They differ in the configuration of –OH and H groups on 2nd , 3rd and 4th carbon atoms of monosaccharide.
1. Glucose and galactose are epimers.
2. They differ in the configuration of –OH and H groups on fourth carbon atom.
3. Like wise glucose and mannose.

•Anomers:
1. Anomers differ in configuration of –OH and-H groups on first or anomeric carbon of sugar.
2. a –glucose and ß – glucose are two anomers of glucose.
3. In a- glucose –OH is present on right side whereas in ß –glucose it is present on left side.
