A tennis ball diameter can be measured using a vernier calliper.Open your vernier calliper and place the ball between the jaws.Read the mark just before the zero mark of the vernier scale in the main scale. Then look for the coinciding mark in the vernier scale to the main scale and multiply it with 0.01 to convert to centimetres. Finally add your vernier scale reading to main scale reading.
