• They convey the message for a long time.
• They are cheap hence many people can afford them.
• They cover a wide geographical area and therefore they reach a big proportion of the audience.
• Advertised message appearing in the newspaper is acceptable by the readers.
Disadvantages.
• People have different newspaper reading preferences and because of this the advertiser may be forced to advertise in various newspapers so that the message reaches many people. This may be costly
• They have a short lifespan as they can be read only on the day they are circulated.
• Many newspapers are written in English and Kiswahili. It is difficult for an advertiser to get those who can’t read the two languages.
• Some readers go through the newspaper in a hurry and may not have time to read the advertised message,
• Newspaper message cannot be focused to a specific target group as newspapers can be read by anybody.
