Boss leadership fails because Boss as the head of Kafira trust and follows the advice of his incompetent kitchen cabinet.
The citizens suffer due to bad governance.
He employs expatriates at the expense of young local graduates. Nepotism is also evident when he employed an illiterate Mulili because he is his cousin.
Tender are awarded to close relatives Kabito tender is withdrawn and awarded to Mulili because of blood relation. Government critics are either jailed or murdered. Adika and Kabito were killed while Mosese and Jere were put behind bars for critising the government.
All this lead to citizens losing trust in Boss. Lead by Jusper they plan to overthrow the government. Incompetent official like Tumbo facilitated the fall of Boss government. Unknowingly he awarded Jusper, a government critic as the winner of the play writing competition. He didn't go through the script before Boss. Thus Boss was caught unaware in the middle of the play and forcefully removed from leadership. Mulili is shot dead on the spot.
