(i) Most of USA's citizens were from Germany so USA did not want to hurt them.

(ii) USA decided they were going by the Monroe's doctrine of isolation.

(iii) USA wanted to protect her business

(iv) The war wasn't affecting USA and so saw no need of joining in.
