Felix
1.Sexual propagation
>Use of seed that is separated from the parent plant.
>Spores are agents of asexual reproduction but can also be sexual.
>There is contribution of both the male and female gametes in the production of new plants.
>The propagated plant therefore has a genotype which results from combining parental sources of male and female gametes.
>The young plant that is produced from seed is the seedling while clonal seedling (clone) is used for that which is vegetatively produced.

2.Asexual propagation
>Plants are produced using material from a single parent and as such there is no exchange of genetic material.
>Vegetative propagation methods almost always produce plants that are identical to the parent.
>Plants parts such as roots, stems and leaves can be used.
>Not all plants propagated by seed are sexually reproduced.
>Some produce apomictic seeds- Apomixis is the production of seeds without sexual union eg in citrus and polyembryonic mang.
