Felix
1.Orthodox seeds
>seeds can be dried, without damage, to low moisture contents and longevity increases with reductions in both moisture content and temperature (MC 5%).

2.Recalcitrant seeds
>seeds do not survive drying or freezing eg Mangoes, avocados, aquatic plants, large seed fruits (MC of 12-30%).

3.Intermediate seeds
>exhibit the drying tolerance characteristic of the orthodox seeds but are sensitive to low temperature storage like the recalcitrant seeds eg citrus and coffee.
