i)Charged conductor in electrostatic equilibrium
- A conductor is in the electrostatic equilibrium when the charge distribution is fixed.
Basically, when you charge a conductor the charge spreads itself out.

ii)Electric field around a charged conductor
- At electrostatic equilibrium, the charge and electric field follow these guidelines:
i). the excess charge lies only at the surface of the conductor;
ii). the electric field is zero inside of the conductor;
iii). electric field at the surface of the conductor is perpendicular to the surface;
iv). charge accumulates, and the field is strongest, on pointy parts of the conductor.
