Only the originator of something knows not only the purpose for his invention, but also the way he set it up to function. Wisdom requires that we consult the originator of an invention for directions on functionality of the invention. Human beings are no exception. Our creator is not mum about our origin. The Christian who is a bible believer appreciates the Genesis account of creation as well as all other truths revealed in the bible.
On certain issues the bible stipulates clear instructions on how money should be spend.

Tithes, First fruits and offerings.
God laid structures that ensured cohesive and just relations among his creation. The bible stipulates ways on how each one should be exercised.

The poor, orphans and widows
‘Whoever helps the poor lends to God and that which he has given will God pay him again’ Proverbs 19:17. It must be noted however that the poor here does not only refer to the materially poor but may also mean poor in spirit or in the knowledge of God. God words is forever true and this scripture should be a motivation to help the poor and get involved in christian missions
Besides the above, the decision to spend his wealth remains entirely on the Christian, howbeit this is to be drawn from the stance of the creator.

No word of God is without meaning, redundant or misplaced. To be able to read between the lines of God’s word enhances our understanding of His stance on any subject. The question to ask when reading the bible is, ‘what does God want me to know that He has not put in words’. That God created man in His image means He intended that man function like himself. The question the Christian should ask then, when making decisions to spend is, would God spend the same way? Without an understanding of God’s character however it is impossible to make well-informed decisions. A study of His character hence is necessary to drive the Christian’s decision on spending his wealth.

Motive
In the creation story, notice that man was the last one to be created. The undeniable explanation for creating man last is because all previous creations were to be of service to man. To make man comfortable. Clearly man’s comfort is of paramount importance to God. The question the Christian should ask when spending his wealth is,- is service to man my motive for spending?. Does my spending serve fellow man or make their life better?

Eternity
God is an eternal God. No matter how good an action is, if it does not resonate in eternity it is unimportant for the Christian. Compared to eternity the period on this earth is only a speck. Mission work is one of the example of spending on eternal goals.

Accountability
The Christian appreciates that God is the provider of everything he has and that he(the Christian is only a steward.). The question to ask then is; would God make the same decision on spending the money that He has entrusted in my hands?
