Cyclonic rainfall also known as frontal rainfall, has the following features:
1. It occurs where and when two masses of different characteristics meet. When warm maritime air mass, which is lighter, meets the cold maritime air, which is cold and heavier, the warm air mass undercuts the cold air mass. The cold air mass is forced to rise since it is righter. Cooling and consequent condensation occurs as it rises. This leads to cloud formation. Further condensation results in the formation of water droplets that fall down the ground as cyclonic rainfall.
2. Cyclonic rainfall is predominant in the tropical regions lying between latitude( 23 degrees north and south of the equator) It is also common in the temperate climatic zones lying within( 66 degrees north and south of the equator)
