Give the local time at Alexandria 30^oE when the local time at Malindi 40^oE is 12.00 noon.

Answers

The differences in degrees of longitude between Alexandria and Malindi is 40^o-30^o=10^o

The difference in time between 1^o longitudes is 4 minutes.
So the total difference in time between the two towns is 10^ox4 minutes=40 minutes.

Alexandria is west of Malindi so it is behind in time by 40 minutes.

Therefore,the local time at Alexandria is 12.00-40 minutes=11.20 a.m
