(i) Input processes: This involves condensed water vapour falling as rain,fog drip,snow,hail,sleet and graupel.

(ii) Output processes:The processes involved are transpiration and evaporation.Evaporation mainly occurs to water that has been intercepted by plant cover.

(iii) Internal transfer: The processes involved are overflow,surface runoff,interception,infiltration and percolation.

(iv) Storage process: Water is finally collected in water bodies such as ponds,canals,streams,rivers,lakes and oceans.
