40 in index form = 2^3*5
Its perfect square should be, 2^4*5^2
2^(3+y)*5^(1+x)= 2^4*5^2
2^(3+y)=2^4
3+y=4
y=1
5^(1+x)=5^2
1+x=2
x=1
Therefore 40 should be multiplied by 5^1*2^1=5*2
=10
