Punishment would definitely nurture a person's behavior. For instance, let's use an example with the Good Conduct issue. As you know that in Kenya, one of the qualities that qualifies you to get a job or get employed is that you must have a certificate of Good Conduct which must have your character or behavior entailed in it. Suppose you were sometimes back arrested and charged of immorality or any other offenses, then your certificate of Good Conduct will be have that detail. Since you may be really in need of a job, you will be disqualified. This creates an awareness to the ones still outside from engaging in immoral behaviors in the society so as to avoid not being employed in future.
