Find the point of intersection of these two straight lines:
2y + 3y + 1 = 0 and 2x - y = 2.

Answers

John
Point of intersection is got by solving the two

equations simultaneously to get x and y respectively

2y + 3x = -1

2(-y + 2x = 2)

2y + 3x = -1

-2y + 4x = 4 +

Add the two equations to eliminate

y.

7x = 3;

x = $\frac{3}{7}$

Substitute in -y + 2x = 2;

-y + $\frac{6}{7}$ = 2;

-y = -$\frac{8}{7}$

The point of intersection is

($\frac{3}{7},\frac{8}{7}$)
