Co-ordinates of A is obtained

by solving the two equations

simultaneously

2x + 3y = 6 ...... (i)

- 6x + 9y = -18 .......(ii)

Multiply (i) by 3.

6x + 9y = 18

-6x + 9y = -18 Add to eliminate x

18y = 0

y = 0

From (i) 2x + 3(0) = 6

Co-ordinates of A is the point of intersection i.e. A(3,0).
