Let the digit be xy

x + y = 10 ........................... (i)

When reversed the number becomes yx.

Get the total value for the original and reversed numbers.

10x + y + 54 = 10y + x

54 = x - 10x + 10y - y

54 = -9x + 9y .................. (ii)

Solve the equation (i) and (ii)

9(x + y = 10)

-9x + 9y = 90

-9x + 9y = 54 + (add eqns)

18y = 144

y = 8;

x + 8 = 10;

x = 2

The number is 28.
