Steep slopes encourage erosion of the top layer of soil thus slowing down formation of soil.s Flat/flood plains are saturated with water therefore slows down forming process. Slope influences arrangement of soil. Steep slopes are more exposed to the sun/rain which influence weathering of parent rock.
