Formation;yatta plateau is a lava plateau It is built up when volcanic lava( basic type) escapes from a number of different fissures and spreads over a wide area before cooling and solidifying.
Lava flows build over one another until hundreds of metres thick.
An upland with fairly flat top is formed
Every new issue of lava increases height of the plateau
