An Operating System is a collection of low-level running programs that have direct access to a computers resources and interacts directly with the hardware. The OS enables a computer user(s) to run other user programs and perform various tasks without ever having to be concerned with the low-level computing paradigms of I/O(Input/Output) processing and requesting for resources such as the CPU, Main Memory and various I/O devices.
