The oil palm tree is a perennial crop. Oil palm seeds are planted in nursery for one year. They are watered and sprayed against attacks by diseases, insects, and pests. Land clearing and ploughing is done. Holes are dug 9 m by 9 m dug in farm. Transplanting is carried out. Use of cover crops for weed control, fertilizer/manure spraying in the early stages of the oil palm growth. Plants are ready for harvesting after 3 1/2 to 4 years.
