i) Age - should be appropriate for starting school.

ii) Psychomotor aspects - e.g. observation of the child in activities such as walking, grasping things i.e. a pen.

iii) Social development - i.e. by looking at the child's social attachment and peer socialization.

iv) Language aspect - this is through use of oral questions to find out if the child's language is developed.

v) Cognitive development - This is also through oral questions to determine their level of reasoning.
