(i) Large tracts of land which ensures there is enough grazing area for beef animals.

(ii) Presence of watering sites like Lorian swamps as well as some permanent rivers that flow through the area which provide water for the animals.

(iii) Moderate rainfall of about 750 mm which allows growth of pasture. Area is free from animal pests especially the tsetse flies.

(iv) Low savanna grassland and semi-desert conditions where grass sprouts and is available for animals.

(v) Relatively flat terrain/ gentle slopes for easier movement of animals.
