i) Apprenticeship/ participation/ informal education - Involved children in daily routine activities e.g. taking care of cattle.

ii) Admonishing/ punishment/ reward/ redicule - This was made to correct misbehaviour, it was mostly verbal but could also be physical.

iii)Deception - Children were deceived that something bad would happen if they misbehaved eventually making them do as expected

iv) Directing/ Instruction - Children were guided on how to behave or handle a certain - activity.

v) Oral literature - A variety of stories, songs and poems were used to impart skills such as hard work tolerance, etc,

vi) Role literature/ imitation.
